Our aims are to achieve high standards of singing and performance, and to contribute to our local community. Our annual programme typically includes 6-8 concerts in the Harpenden area and further afield, a cathedral tour, open singing days and the occasional recording. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at St George’s School, Harpenden. We are known for good music making, varied repertoire including regular commissions, excellent soloists, interesting concert venues and loyal patronage of a range of local hostelries…. We come from a wide range of musical backgrounds and have a thriving interns scheme for talented Singers from local schools. Over our 50 year history, the Leas have sung under 11 permanent conductors and many guests, each of whom has made a distinctive contribution to our style and repertoire. The work was written for His Eminence John Patrick Cardinal Foley, Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and was premiered on the March 2011 tour of the Saint Mary's University Chamber Singers to Rome. This performance is from the choir's homecoming concert, March 17, 2011, with the composer conducting.

As the premiere chorale ensemble at OSU, the OSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has garnered national attention and international awards. While touring Eastern Europe in 2001, the choir received the Grand Prize at the Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, the Chamber Choir was selected as the only collegiate mixed choir from outside of the state of Utah to perform at the 60th Music Educators National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana Hall in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, the first choir allowed to perform in the monastery in decades. We have developed a reputation for excellent performance of interesting and challenging programmes for Singers, players and audiences alike. Repertoire spans vocal works from the eleventh century to the present day including several Baroque present-day premières, with musicians drawn from recognised professional period ensembles.

Under the tutelage of the current Philippine Madrigal Singers member, Jet Torres, the group has won in local choral competitions and has been participating in various choral festivals. Each year, the group also holds fund-raising concert activities to support its annual outreach programs.

Members of the Mundus Cantat Choir are Singers with experience in other choirs in the Tricity area as well as students of the Tricity schools and universities. The repertoire of Mundus Cantat, a mixed chamber choir, includes various kinds of music – old melodies, modern songs as well as sacral music and popular music. Its members have participated in many major music events, such as oratorio performances dedicated to Pope John Paul II or a concert directed by Enio Morricone during the Solidarity Festival.
