We rehearse in Balfron Ch...  moreThe Strathendrick singers is an amateur Choir of some fifty singers, which draws its members from the villages in the valley of the River Endrick. Members come from Balfron, Killearn, Drymen, Kippen, Aberfoyle and further afield. We rehearse in Balfron Church on Monday nights at 7.30. We are under the musical direction of Mark Evans, and perform publicly at both Christmas and Spring.

Presenting many challenges, the 8 minute piece is based on an octatonic scale and divides into as many as 20 parts. For a short while there are 4 conductors. The video includes subtitles. It was recorded May of 2010 in the CentralWashington University Music Building Concert Hall. The Choir has also recorded YouTube videos that feature music of Claudio Monteverdi, Ola Gjeilo, John Muehleisen, Vijay Singh and Tomás Luis da Victoria. Founded in 1977, the Choir has gained a well-deserved reputation for performing neglected and unfamiliar music as well as better known and popular pieces, both sacred and secular. New members are welcome and encouraged to attend three rehearsals before an informal voice appraisal.

Founded by a group of choral music lovers in 2002, KCC has leaded the choral music community to an unceasingly advancement in southern Taiwan. KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, female or male choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary Chamber Choir music, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. KCC’s active presence on stages has brought several acclaimed rewards from private and public offices. Under the leadership of the current Artistic Director, Dr. Chia-fen Weng, KCC launched the Elite Workshop to further expand the Choir’s caliber in 2007. Six Degree singers has featured in events all around the D.C.-metro area, including the Silver Spring Loy Krathong Thai Festival and the Chesapeake-Potomac Invitational Bonspiel, an annual curling event, and was recently selected to perform in the closing concert of the Kennedy Center's National Choral Festival in 2014.
