We run inspirational residential courses and training programmes, create remarkable concerts and performances, and work in partnership to get singing happening in schools and open settings. We do it because singing togeTher at The highest level transforms young people's lives, and we want to make sure that as many as possible get The chance to experience it for Themselves.  less

Completed in 1997, The piece was inspired by The MS Estonia disaster of 1994. It won third prize in The European composition competition for caThedral choirs in 1997. The text of The piece is taken from three sources: The Catholic Requiem Mass, Psalm 107: "They that go down to The sea in ships...", and The report of The disaster from The weekly Latin-language Finnish news service, Nuntii Latini. This auditioned mixed voice adult choir performs a an impressive rep...  moreSince its formation as a Centennial Project in 1967, Fanshawe Chorus London has become one of The largest musical performance organizations in Canada, and The largest in Western Ontario. This auditioned mixed voice adult choir performs a an impressive repertoire of music ranging from symphonic classical to modern favourites under The direction of Maestro, David Holler. Uniquely, The Chorus is backed by its own "Concert Players Orchestra" and is a non-profit corporation operating in partnership with The Media Studies Program at Fanshawe College. This organization has achieved its world class status through its adherence to excellence, and The diligence of individual choristers and continues to grow in quality each season. The London Fanshawe Symphonic Chorus organization is also a two time winner of The Ontario Lieutenant-Governor's Award for The Arts for fiscal responsibility and innovative programming.  less

It has 170 singing members in soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections. Presenting classical choral music of a professional standard in Yorkshire and elsewhere in Britain, including at The BBC Proms and Manchester Arena, The Chorus is broadcast regularly on BBC Radio 3. The Leeds Festival Chorus was first formed in 1858 (The year Queen Victoria opened The Leeds Town Hall) to sing at The first Leeds Musical Festival, and was reformed for each succeeding one. The Chorus became independent in 1985. It celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008 with a performance of a specially-commissioned work by Judith Bingham - a world premiere.
