Members include School staff, pupils (over 16), Employees of council, members of the community. Anyone can join and we have lots of fun, learning basic singing techniques and developing a repertoire of an eclectic choice of music. New members are always welcome.

The choir is a registered charity made up of around 100 singers from the age of 18 upwards. Singers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but we all share the enjoyment of choral singing. We are located in Oslo an has a very broad repertoar from medieval to contemporary music. We sing in many languages and in many genres; classical, church music, romantic songs, folk music, jazz; with our main focus in classical music. We have been singing for 15 years and held concerts in several European capitals. Taking our singing seriously, we are a very social singers who likes to perform with other choirs or musicians.

The choir has been a finalist in both the CBC choral competition for amateur...  moreThe Saskatoon Chamber Singers was founded in 1977 by a group of former Greystone Singers (University of Saskatchewan) who wanted to continue singing in a quality choral ensemble. The choir has been a finalist in both the CBC choral competition for amateur choirs and the International Choral Kathaumixw in Powell River, British Columbia, and participated in the non-competitive Festival 500 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It has also been the guest choir at Saskatchewan Sings, and sang at the installation of Lynda Haverstock (a former member) as Lieutenant-Governor of Saskatchewan. In 2010, the choir performed at Podium, the biennial conference of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities, held in Saskatoon. The choir’s repertoire has been rich in variety since its establishment, and Canadian music has always been an important component of its programming. Recorded May of 2010 in the CWU music building concert hall. "Carpenters of God" was written specifically for the Chamber Choir's appearance at the 2010 NWACDA Conference. The composer talks about the inspiration for the piece (Weston Noble's visit to CWU in 2009) for the first 65 seconds. The piece is sung beginning at 1:05 in the video. The choir has also recorded YouTube videos that feature music of Claudio Monteverdi, Ola Gjeilo, John Muehleisen, Einojuhani Rautavaara, and Tomás Luis da Victoria. Since its formation it has presented well over 100 perfor...  moreThe Elgar Chorale is a Worcester-based group of up to 40 singers, founded by Dr Donald Hunt which has always specialised in English music, with a particular emphasis on the works of Edward Elgar. Since its formation it has presented well over 100 performances and ppeared at each of the Worcester Three Choirs Festivals from 1981 to 1996. Performances have included world premières of works by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Herbert Sumsion and Howard Blake, and a British première of Leonard Bernstein’s Missa Brevis. The Chorale was also the principal choral group at the Highly successful Elgar Festivals at Worcester in 2007 and 2009, and last year enjoyed a concert tour in Devon, singing at Colyton, Dartmouth, Exeter and Torquay. It is proud to have Dame Janet Baker, C.H as its Patron.  less

They were under the tu...  moreEast Rand Male Symphony was established in August 1990 by the members of the then Kenneth Masekela SSS Boys Choir after winning the TUATA National School Choir Competition in the category of Boys Choirs for the 4th successive year. They were under the tutelage of Mojalefa Motloung. The choir is made up of members from the East Rand which is now affectionately known as Ekurhuleni. The young men who established the choir in 1990 are now responsible men taking their place in their communities. We currently have over 35 members of which ages range from 20 to 50. We are still under the baton of Mojalefa Motloung who also forms part of our Conductors Forum.  less
