Following on from The formation of a Birralee Tenth Anniversary Alumni Choir in 2005, Resonance of Birralee was formed under The leadership of Paul Holley. The young people involved represent a variety of professions and a significant number are tertiary students. They share a common love of singing and in many cases are accomplished musicians. One of Their strengths as an ensemble is Their expertise and appreciation of a broad range of music styles and Their ability to adapt Their programme to suit any event. In 2008 Resonance competed at The World Choir Games in Graz, Austria, where They won Gold and Silver medals in popular vocal and gospel categories. From its beginning it has been affiliated with ZAMEK Culture Centre. Experienced and respected pedagogues-musicians look after The musical development of The girls and artistic program. The Choir is conducted and creatively inspired by its Artistic Director and Conductor Alicja Szeluga, an educator and Choral music aficionado. The Vocal Coach Marzena Michałowska, and accompanying pianist Czesław Łynsza, as well as percussionist Beata Polak complete The musical team. The SKOWRONKI Girls Choir also has programs for younger groups. The ensemble is consists of 140 girls aged between 6 and 22. The singers of The Choir are secondary School students as well as students from universities of Poznań.
