The Choir currently has one or two vacancies for singers in some voice parts, so if you are aged 18 or over, are resident in Scotland, have experience in church choral singing, and would like to be considered for an audition or would just like more information, please contact the administrator, whose details are on our website.  less

Input "Hawaii Sacred Choir" A special video is "A Hawaiian Hallelujah" We are the only King's College-type Choir (with Choirboys, Choirgirls and adult ATBs) in Hawai'i. We have been invited by Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, UK, to sing as "Choir in residence" for a week in July 2014, taking over their Choir's duties of singing 8 services that week. We are the only Hawai'i Choir to belong to the Royal School of Church Music, and we use their adjudication standards to award medals which are internationally recognized by the RSCM. We sing sacred music in English, Latin, and Hawaiian. We are always looking for new choristers. Auditions are year-around, although placement occurs only in fall semester and spring semester. How I wrote the composition Hope to process a miscarriage, or how I wrote I Will Lift My Eyes at a time when multiple family members, both young and old, were being diagnosed with cancer. No matter life’s challenges, music has always been an outlet for me to cope and heal. It has helped me to persevere and fight through some of life's most difficult moments, ultimately making me a stronger person. The world can be a challenging place, but each of us are warriors—armed with the gift to sing, and filled with the fire, passion, drive, and grit to conquer anything. It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community Choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that b...  moreKoruso!, meaning chorus in Esperanto, began in October 2008 as a Southwark Council initiative to promote community cohesion. It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community Choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions. The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond. Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing together every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road. New members are always welcome - particularly tenors and basses.  less

The choral programme starts with a general education for ages 5-7, before they are ready for Junior Choir (7-10), Intermediate Choir (10-13), Stage Choir or Youth Choir (13-18). Youth Choir contains over 80 singers, and the total number of singers meeting each week at the academy is over 180. The junior Choirs are directed by Mrs Kate Venvell, Stage Choir is directed by Richard Halton and Julie Gossage, and Youth Choir is directed by Tim Venvell.  less
