The aim of the Horizons Project is not simply to stimulate the creation of new South African choral music; but to stimulate the creation of a new generation of South African choral composers. There are 2 projects a year, each one focusing on a different genre of choral compositions. The Choir consists of 24 hand-picked singers. By inviting specific ‘head-hunted’ singers to join the Choir and not just having open public auditions, allows us to hold an extremely high level of musicianship, technical ability and an exclusivity that makes our sound unique. The Choir consists of members mainly from Cape Town's Northern suburbs, but also as far as the Helderberg region and Mitchells Plain. The repertoire of the Choir consists of religious and secular music that varies from the Renaissance to the modern era. This includes (oratoria, masses extracts from operas, operettes, musicals and arrangements of folk- and ethnic music.

We receive children...  moreOctava Children Choir was founded in 2009 as a part of St. Anthony of Padua Elementary School, located in BSD Serpong, South Tangerang. This is a group of kids who study in the school and as an extracurricular program for the children. We receive children from the 3rd till 6th grades. The Choir is conducted by Fanny Kristianus Kalensang and till now is the one who is in charge of all OCC's activities.  

Girls from 14-24 with exceptional voices from the Southern Gauteng region are welcome to audition and join the Choir.

The FGC "Golden Girls are proud of being the founder members of this young up and coming Girls Choir in the Western Cape. FGC is a High School Choir that is comprised of girls between the ages of 13 and 18.

When Odwa Mvunge return to his birth community in 2012, after completing his music education studies at Nelson Mandela University, not much has changed. There still was no place in Zolani for the youth to express themselves in cultural activities that was not offered at school nor in the community. After school the youth would loiter around without direction. This lead to the formation of the Zolani Youth Choir. The basic idea and purpose of the Choir is to equip youth of our community with basic music skills. The Choir consists of 25 scholars from different schools who are between the ages of 12 and 26 years. These scholars have no professional training or background in formal music, but have proven to have a passion and love for the art.
