With members graduated from Hong Kong traditional schools like Diocesan Boys’ School, Belilios Public School, St. Paul’s Coeducation College, Ying Wa Girls’ School, St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, St. Paul’s College, Wah Yan College Kowloon, and also universities like the Hong Kong University and the Chinese University, the group was immediately invited by the HKSAR government to a celebration performance in early July 2010. The group also presented a standard professional program of sacred music in its first concert “Inspiratio” in August 2010, and a themed concert, featuring a range of masterpieces of Chinese Choral music,「聲．華」in August 2011, which won critical acclaim from local music conductors, composers and musicians. SINGERS: Valley Chamber Chorale members are talented singers committed to a high standard of performance. Just as our concerts display a dynamic diversity in programming and instrumentation, so do our singers reflect marvelous variety. Our members are educators and students, physicians and attorneys, stay-at-home moms, clergy, pilots, corporate executives and professional musicians. Some have sung with the Chorale for more than 30 years – some have sung just a year. Chorale members tend to be actively involved in the Community and sing with the group as a way to share the gift of music with our St. Croix Valley audiences. Its repertoire includes choral music from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, works by contemporary Greek composers, traditional songs, spirituals, etc. It has given numerous concerts in Greece, Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Norway, Switzerland, Hungary, Cyprus, Turkey, and Serbia. Since 2023, the Choir has been organizing annually the “Arta Sacred Music Festival” which takes places in Byzantine churches of Arta. One Voice Community Choir celebrates diversity and continually sources new material from its multi-cultural roots. They brought to our school the rich traditions of classical music that prevailed in Europe, at the time. By and by , they were ably assisted by highly interested and committed lay trainers cum teachers who went on to train prize winning Choirs that stood out among schools and also were in great demand for national events.
