Each 3 weeks we learn a new Song together and perform 4-5 times per year. Texts are available in Hebrew and in Phonetics, we translate and learn to pronounce and sing together, and have an archive of all the Songs and the various harmonies recorded separately to make it easier to learn and join. It's a lot of fun. Hebrew Groove is a young, contemporary, Hebrew vocal group based in Amsterdam. The repertoire consists of Hebrew pop Songs from all periods, retouched with the groovy piano and close harmony vocal arrangements of conductor Noam Vazana. Hebrew Groove has performed at: Amsterdam MuseumNacht, Paradiso Choir Festival, Salaam-Shalom solidarity event for Charlie Hebdo, Namen en Nummers, Koor en More Festival and more.  less

The words are my own and tell of children playing their games in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to the angels and join their singing. The performance here is by the Composer's Choir conducted by Daniel Shaw.

Those evening bells! Those evening bells! How many a tale their music tells of youth, and home and that sweet time, When last I heard their soothing chime. Those joyous hours are past away, And many a heart that then was gay Within the tomb now darkly dwells And hears no more these evening bells. And so 'twill be when I am gone; That tuneful peal will still ring on while other bards will walk these dells, and sing your praise, sweet evening bells.  less
