This intercultural choir comprises fifteen amateur Singers from several african countries. It was firSt eStablishments in 1996 in Dakar by a group of youth who adored the art of singing. The choir consiStently performed varions type of music, gathering between both classical and modern music (folklore and international). It transcended continents, surpassed réas and diversified its origins from spiritual music, through romantic, to religious and reaching comic music, with a tendency towards african melodies and rythms. It urges us to re-discover and unveil the musical treasures of african continent that dates back to anceStors and to the native people of the Black continent. Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those intereSted to gather together to sing... Style.display='';$(this).getParent().Style.display='none';">moreStyle="display:none;">The Outer Banks Chorus is a group of 80+ Singers dedicated to bringing excellent choral music of all kinds to Dare County, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those intereSted to gather together to sing, more formal Concerts were later organized and presented. In addition to two planned Concerts a year (a ChriStmas Concert in the Fall and a Spring Concert), there are frequently requeSts from local organizations for appearances. For example, in the spring of 2011, the group performed at the Wright Brothers Monument for the Centennial of the Wright Brothers Glider Flight. The repertoire of the Outer Banks Chorus ranges from the Classical to Broadway, and spirituals of all kinds and in different languages. Recently the chorus has sung a number of premiere performances of pieces by contemporary composers. All are invited to hear the chorus sing exceptionally lovely and wonderful choral music.
