It is sung in Megrelian , a language related to Georgian. "We wish you a Happy New Year. God bless the past year and the new one. Prosperity to you and yours. May your storehouses be filled with corn. May the bird of your dreams flap its wings. May you soon see your loved ones who are far away. Now, I am going to the mountains, and will not see you for five years."  less

Moses Hogan) is sung by The Central Washington University Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director) at the Santa María de León Cathedral in Léon, Spain. TEXT: Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me. I need Thy presence every passing hour. What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me. O Thou who changest not, abide with me. In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. Amen. Its repertoire is varied and loosely “classical”, focusing on sacred and secular music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. This is an auditioned group with considerable musical and choral experience, one that aspires to a higher standard of performance. Our members include amateur and professional musicians, Choir directors and music educators. Prospective members may audition from time to time as positions come open. Contact the Choir if you have an interest in joining. We perform mostly a cappella pieces, but many of our concerts include accompaniment by members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and organ.  less
