Although the choir originated and is based in Preston, Lancashire, members come from all over the North West. Individual choir members are involved in a wide range of local Community projects and often call upon the whole choir to help drive fundraising events across the region. One Voice Community Choir celebrates diversity and continually sources new material from its multi-cultural roots. The inspired leadership of Musical Director Tyndale Thomas MBE, combined with 14 years of performance experience has produced a stunning sound and versatile choral ensemble. Coaching and conducting is provided by Bishop Grosseteste University College Community Music Development Co-ordinator Annie Walker. The emphases for members of Vocal Authority is very firmly on having fun - whether they are singing Latin rounds or modern chart hits, they aim to do it with a big smile on their faces!  

We were born on the 24th of july 2017. A new choir in our local area. Open to all singers who want to have a fun singing experience, performing songs from the charts, old and new.

Our mission as an ensemble is to connect with the Community and each other through the exploration of quality choral music, including the promotion of women composers, within an engaging, encouraging, and intergenerational environment focused on healthy vocal technique and artistic excellence. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to re...  more The Johansen High School Vocal Music Department provides our students the opportunity to perform great choral literature while entertaining local audiences and performing at a variety of civic and Community events. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our Community in various capacities as well as having the opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students their first experience outside of Stanislaus County. We are excited that nearly 60 students will participate in the vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. Last year our Choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with Foreigner at the County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for the Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013.  less
