Most of ex-semble's members come from the Süwestpfälzer Kinderchor. Starting in the CHILDREN'S CHOIR with voice training and also personal formation, ex-semble works mainly with a-cappella literature of all epoches. Named after a beautiful and rugged region in Terra Nova NATIONAL Park, the CHOIR celebrates it's 10th anniversary season in 2014-2015. This is a true community CHOIR of more than thirty experienced singers representing the professions of music, teaching, engineering, law, civil service, marketing, information technology and journalism. Nearly one-half of the CHOIR's singers are students from across many disciplines of study. Newman Sound has realized an ever-growing loyal audience, a high local, NATIONAL and interNATIONAL reputation and a very bright future having established an exciting and eclectic repertoire across the genres of classical, pop and folk including some outstanding arrangements and original compositions by several of the singers within the CHOIR.  less

Our mission is to spread a message of respect for the natural world through music from across the globe, and we have performed at events such as Glastonbury Festival 2013 Opening Ceremony, and the United Nations World Environment Day concert in Staines and in Oxford Street, central London. We welcome men and women of all abilities, and sessions are taught by ear so no experience is needed, just a passion for singing and a love of the earth! Our Musical Director is the renowned Susie Ro Prater who has supported CHOIRs and natural voice movement workshops for many years. Our very enjoyable CHOIR practices take place once a month at the Hythe Centre in Egham, Staines, easily accessible by train from Central London and free parking onsite. We are a mixed CHOIR, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide and varied mixture of music, an orchestral concert in the Autumn, and a charity Christmas concert. We can also be seen throughout the year taking part in various community events; singing at the local Christmas grotto, taking part in flash mobs and singing at weddings and funerals.  less

It’s been at least 15-20 years now that we have participated in numerous festivals and concerts all over Greece but also all over Europe. In 2005, as adults, we decided to establish this particular group with the assistance of the Children’s CHOIR. We have given concerts in Hungary, in several cities in Greece and especially in Chalkidiki. In 2011 new members have been included in the group and we have changed our name into “THAMYRIADES”. Our repertory extends from classical to rock, pop and musical. You will have the opportunity to listen to us in selected halls. In Greek mythology, Thamyris (Greek: Θάμυρις), son of Philammon and the nymph Argiope, was a Thracian singer who was so proud of his skill that he boasted he could outsing the Muses.
