In its 14-year hiStory, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in several international choral competitions. Among which are the 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), the 1St A Voyage of Songs International Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). In 2009, the choir won the 1St and 2nd Prizes at the 46th Internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, AuStria and the 1St Prize at the 55th Certamen International de Habaneras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain. Founded by Singers and beatboxers from the likes of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, LaSt Choir Standing and Britain's Got Talent favourites Out of the Blue, the group’s repertoire spans from Billy Joel to the Black Eyed Peas, via pop, jazz, barbershop, rap and original composition as they offer a programme of sumptuous jazz arrangements, genre jumping covers and assorted originals. Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Refrains enjoyed a sold-out London debut at The Forge, Camden.
