What was once a packed out mass full of joy and pray...  moreIgnite Gospel Choir was founded by Keara Sheeran… In Oct of 2008 I returned to the Jes church, the place I had grown up with my father running the Folk mass choir. He had retired 12 years previously. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and prayer, families and young couples, singles and religious, was now a quieter mass with no choir and I saddened by this. I offered my services as a singer and musician to come and provide music for the 5:30 mass and within a few short weeks I returned to the place I consider my spiritual home. I had not purposely set out to start a choir but people began to approach me with a desire to sing and it was a need within the community I was not going to Ignore. On the 12th Dec 2008 The Jes Gospel Choir was birthed with 5 singers and me & it was a wonderful experience and we received a very warm welcome. Its goal is to provide a quality opportunity for choral singers to learn or improve their craft. The chorus sings a wide variety of music, including classical, spiritual, Folk, Broadway and old standards. The group presents two concerts each year – at Christmas, and in the Spring. It has performed with the Temecula Vintage Singers, and for the Temecula Arts in the Country festival, as well as many local appearances for deserving organizations. The chorus rehearses and performs in the Temecula area. The chorus is one of the Resident Companies performing at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. We have been singing for 15 years and held concerts in several European capitals. Taking our singing seriously, we are a very social singers who likes to perform with other choirs or musicians.

The choir has a multilingual playlist which extends from Armenian traditional Folk songs to modern Armenian or non-Armenian songs. These songs are performed in different ways: - A capella - Accompanied by the piano - Accompanied by the Armenian Folk traditional band - Accompanied by a modern contemporary band. Many Armenian musicians from Armenia enrich the choir's repertoire with their unique and creative works. The choir members are composed of university students and secondary classes students in Armenian High Schools, as well as young Armenians in the work force.
