Executing this music with "sensitivity and style" (Early Music America), Schola Antiqua takes pride in providing the highest standards of research, performance, and education involving many under-served repertories in the western musical canon. Founded in 2000, the organization has received invitations to perform from the Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Chicago’s Newberry Library, the Chicago Cultural Center, the University of Chicago, the University of Notre Dame, the American Guild of Organists, and numerous locations across the Midwest. In 2006-2007, Schola Antiqua was Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Chicago and currents holds an artistic residency at the Lumen Christi Institute. We learn our parts with precision, thus allowing us to put aside our sheet music and really enjoy the magic of hearing all the harmonies merged for a fine tuned a cappella sound! A cappella is a vocal tradition as old as music itself, has held a prominent place in many musical genres. Blue Fever focuses on jazz and contemporary pop. Derived from the Italian phrase "in the manner of the chapel," a cappella refers to vocal music performed without any instrumental accompaniment. We have been singing as a group for over 10 years. We are a friendly, happy group and you are welcome to come and join us to see what we do. We meet at Barlow Methodist Chapel every Tuesday from 7.30 to 9.30pm  

Since 1994, we are confronted with the sacred and secular repertoire from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, and sometimes we let the contaminating pop music, folk and other experiences related to music performance and theater.
