Composed of twenty young singers, the choir is involved in an innovative thinking artistic project. the New Baroque Times voices is characterized by the eclecticism of its artistic choices with a repertoire going from Renaissance to the most complex creations of contemporary music. Attached to the New Baroque Times ensemble, the choir charts its own course and trajectory remaining open and willing to work with other ensembles in Belgium and abroad.  less

During the choir’s existence, it has taken par...  moreFounded in June 1977, the present Whitehaven Male Voice Choir has established an enviable reputation among the musical world of male voices in Britain, along with appearances on local radio and television. During the choir’s existence, it has taken part in many musical festivals, and proven its quality by winning many first prizes, and has been joined in concert by world renowned soloists and choirs from Britain and America. Every year, the choir perform around twenty concerts throughout Cumbria, raising thousands of pounds for charitable organisations and other worthy causes. the services of the choir are provided entirely free of charge to the organisations they perform for. Outside the county they have performed in such notable venues as the Royal Albert Hall, London; on three occasions, Cardiff Arms Park; twice, Sheffield Arena and in Edinburgh. Entry by audition. Rehearsals are fortnightly on Sunday evenings. Currently performing 4 concerts per year, all proceeds from Quire voices concerts go to a different selected charity for each event. Charities for 2011 are: the Royal British Legion, Tommy's Charity.
