We have developed a reputation for excellent performance of interesting and challenging programmes for Singers, players and audiences alike. Repertoire spans vocal works from the eleventh century to the present day including several Baroque present-day premières, with musicians drawn from recognised professional period ensembles.  

The ECU Singers is the large choral ensemble of East Central University. The group consists of around 90-100 Singers. The group is non-auditioned and consists of music majors as well as students from various academic areas. The group is non-auditioned and consists of music majors as well as students from various academic areas. The Singers usually perfrom at least one major work per year. The chorus is under the direction of Dr. J. Steven Walker.

Under the tutelage of the current Philippine Madrigal Singers member, Jet Torres, the group has won in local choral competitions and has been participating in various choral festivals. Each year, the group also holds fund-raising concert activities to support its annual outreach programs.

Wis Foreward: Santiago Veros wrote Almas de Barro at the age of 19, dedicating it to a young woman who at the time was shy and with whom he rarely talked. This piece intimately describes the moments during music theory classes when the two would look at each other continuously, youthfully, and silently, as if unable to do anything else.
