We sang this chorus from Smetana's The Bartered Bride everywhere, from concert halls to churches, outdoor settings to overheated Rehearsal rooms. Videographer Phil Jack, a valued member of our baritone section, compiled this video for us. It shows just a bit of the HUGE amount of fun we had!

All the children are Free, Teachers are gone, In all corners of the country, school is out! All the pilgrims are ready; it's the frivolous party season! The feast has begun, everywhere it's part time! Many have arrived at Lakou Migonga. Chickens, turkeys and ducks Are carousing in the yard. Fathers, grandfathers, brothers and sisters are gathered, Neighbors and friends, we all make one family. These are all customs in the country of Haiti. Artocarpus incisa, Millet, Sugarcanes are flourishing. Mangos and Avocados are falling all day long. The night before, it's wood burning, The next day, it's the ten a.m. Mass. We are specifically aimed at experienced singers who want to work quickly in a non-regular Rehearsal setting. Imagine a Book Club for Choral singers! Each session every two or three weeks, we will look at a couple of new songs, chosen by differend members of the group, from the whole history of music, form Monvererdi to Madness. We have two experienced conductor/singers who will be happy to lead any session, but all singers will be encouraged to lead their own song choices if they wish. The aim, in the first intance, is to have fun exploring as much choral repertoire as possible, in a fun and collaborative enviroment. We do not intend to book up concerts straight away - once we've had a few meetings and looked at enough repertoire then we'll think about performances. Let's work to get the music right first!
