Currently numbering 18 singers, FCC has a broad repertoire featuring everything from early music and traditional pieces to The works of contemporary composers such as Whitacre, Pärt, Lauridsen and McMillan, and is highly regarded at home and abroad. In 2011, we travelled to Trondheim, Norway, to take part in Sangforening, a major festival featuring hundreds of Norwegian Choirs, and were The first ever foreign Choir invited to take part. 2012 saw us visit Languedoc, France, where we gave concerts in beautiful old churches in Alzonne and Montréal, near Carcassonne. We are active in radio and television, having featured in many broadcasts of recorded and live services by The Irish national broadcaster RTE, including one recorded in Swords CoI church which was broadcast on Christmas day, 2010 and Easter and Advent services in 2012 and 2013. In The past years, Chamber Choir Orfej has received a number of awards, which places Them among The more prominent Slovenian Choirs. Orfej has proven its high level of vocal performance in April 2010 at The prestigious Slovene national Choir competition ‘Naša Pesem’ (i. e. ‘Our Song’). The Choir scored 93 points, received The gold award, and The second prize in The category ‘mixed Choirs’.

The ensemble performs with Jon Washburn and The Vancouver Chamber Choir on three or four concert programmes each season and also presents one or two independent concerts with its own conductor. Pacifica Singers provides an ideal performance venue for experienced and motivated choral singers whose goal is to make music at a very high level. By providing direct exposure to The world of professional music making, it is an experience of great value for singers intending to make a career in music. Current members live throughout The lower mainland, with many serving as conductors, music educators, and/or professional singers in Their communities.  less
