I felt the Latin word “Lux” (Light) was an appropriate fit for the imagery of sunlight and heavenly light. The second verse represents the grown child waking up from the dream (first verse). This verse is meant to be bittersweet rather than strictly sad or angry. While there is grieving, the melody imparts comfort through nostalgia and memories. When the second verse gloriously blooms into the third, this represents everlasting love shining through even the darkest of times. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the choirs invited to grace the Sing For Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records.
