ORPHEUS vocal group founded in Lviv, Ukraine, in autumn 2000, is a male a cappella group with eight singers. All members are professional singers and musicians, all of them graduated the Higher Musical Academy in Lviv and their diverse musical backgrounds...  moreORPHEUS vocal group founded in Lviv, Ukraine, in autumn 2000, is a male a cappella group with eight singers. All members are professional singers and musicians, all of them graduated the Higher Musical Academy in Lviv and their diverse musical backgrounds contribute to the musical expression of the ensemble.The group is flexible in number to expend into different styles of singing. All music are performed a cappella. The main areas of speciality are Orthodox church music (liturgical), folk and popular Ukrainian songs and some examples of original Ukrainian, world music as well as well-known a cappella classics. ORPHEUS also perform new songs - composed and arranged by the group members themselves, all of them featuring surprising and exciting arrangements.  less

Several months previous, a number of likeminded individuals began to visualise the formation of a Male Choir for the Lower Llynfi Valley, something which this area of the County Borough of Bridgend, South Wales lacked. Following lengthy discussions with a number of experienced and well respected Choristers, we came up with some basic philosophies. • Keep the choir to a manageable size • Take our music to the community-at-large • Establish ourselves as a quality musical group • Encourage less experienced Choristers to grow in ability and musicality • Share our joy in singing One thing was fundamental, and that was to keep the choir `Ego-Free` their mantra being ‘Leave your Egos at the door as it’s the music that matters’. Their desire was to form a group in which lasting friendships would grow and be nurtured, with an aim to bond and enjoy singing, and at the same time, perform to the community, raise money for charity and have lots of pleasure doing so.
