Esta agrupación, pionera y decana de la actividad coral argentina, ha desarrollado una intensa labor artística difundiendo la música coral universal, ofreciendo numerosos conciertos en casi la totalidad de las provincias del país y representando a la Argentina en el exterior. Es el primer coro latinoamericano en adjudicarse el Gran Premio Europeo (Francia - 2009), máxima competencia coral a nivel mundial. Merecen destacarse, por la gran repercusión del público y de la crítica especializada, las actuaciones en el Teatro Independencia y Anfiteatro Frank Romero Day (Provincia de Mendoza); Auditorio Juan Victoria (Provincia de San Juan); Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires en 1971, 1975, 1977, 1980, 1988, 2003 y 2011, en el Luna Park en 1994 y 1995 y en el extranjero los conciertos realizados en importantes salas de Alemania, Austria, Chile, Dinamarca, España, Estados Unid...    less

Originally dedicated to performing 17th and 18th century operas, the membership voted to rename the group Richmond Opera in 2016 to reflect a diversification into performing operas of other eras. Our next opera will be a fully staged performance of JF Lampe's burlesque 'The Dragon of Wantley', a hilarious pastiche of Handel's operas, sung in English with baroque orchestra, at the lovely Victorian Normansfield Theatre. It was such a riot back in the day that it eclipsed Handel's more serious works!
