The group comprises two classical... moreThe Addison Group of Singers is made up of four different Choirs for singers of all ages, abilities and musical interests. It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director since 1995.
The group comprises two classical Choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and a much larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz Choirs – an auditioned mixed Jazz Ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-female Jazz Choir. It also offers two different singing classes to meet The needs of beginners, intermediate and The more competent, experienced singer.
The Addison Singers normally operate on three 10-week terms (The same as The schools) with a concert or recital at The end of each term. Rehearsals are held in Hammersmith on Monday (Jazz and Vocal Technique), Wednesday evenings (Classical Choirs and Learn to Read Music class ) and Thursday afternoons (Musicianship for Singers class); The times and subscriptions depend on which Choir or class you join. The present line-up has been steady since 2006. Their repertoire offers a variety of styles of great difficulty and chromatic richness, and tries to take advantage of The cultural and geographic circumstances which make of The Canary Islands a multicultural place.

The Choir, which began at Brigham Young University as an early music ensemble, transformed into one of The premier non-collegiate Chamber groups in The Western United States.
This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on The rich musical heritage of The region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and all have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators.
The group won both of its categories at The 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for Their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler.
Cantorum is under The direction of Steven Durtschi, a graduate of Brigham Young University and Utah State University.
