YNS is a children's choir organization of over 330 Singers in 8 different choirs ranging in age from grades 1- 12. Choirs consist of Singers grouped by age and ability, as well as a Boys Choir and Young Men's Chorus

With a large repertoire ranging from art to popular music, and stretching from the medieval to the contemporary in style, this choir gives many concerts throughout the academic year, both in Ireland and abroad. Following a competitive selection process each September, eighteen gifted students are awarded a scholarship, with recipients of the award coming from a range of academic disciplines across the university, from Music to Medicine, Law, Agricultural Science, Commerce and Engineering. The choir regularly broadcasts on Irish television and radio. Since its formation in 1999, the group frequently performs with orchestras, including the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Earley Musicke Ensemble and the European Union Chamber Orchestra, and on the university campus with the UCD Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Choir. These Singers represent a variety of majors and the general population of the University’s student body. They made their Carnegie Hall debut on Easter Sunday in 2012 with the New England Chamber Orchestra, and have performed for various state and divisional ACDA and NAfME conferences. The MSU Singers made their European debut in Paris and Normandy during the summer of 2014 and performed 8 concerts to acclaim during the summer of 2016 in Austria and The Czech Republic. In December of 2016 the MSU Singers were invited and performed at the White House in Washington D.C.  less
