We took part of our rehearsal last night to honor Black History Month and celebrate the diversity of our Chorus. What better way to celebrate than with song. We chose "Oh Happy Day"' a late '60s gospel song with its roots from an 18th-century hymn.

We sang this Chorus from Smetana's The Bartered Bride everywhere, from concert halls to churches, outdoor settings to overheated rehearsal rooms. Sin...  moreWhen Fred Reinagel founded The Vail Chorale in 2011, his goal was simple: to create a non-auditioned community Chorus that would provide an opportunity for choral music-making on Tucson’s east side, welcoming singers of all ages and musical skills. Since its inception, The Vail Chorale has been entertaining local audiences with Fall and Spring concerts that feature musical styles for every taste. Performances have taken place at various locations including Empire and Cienega High Schools, the Arizona Senior Academy, and the Del Webb Lodge at Rancho del Lago. Chorale members have included high school students as well as adults of all ages, who have found that the intergenerational experience has added to the fun of singing together. Concert attendees have remarked at the obvious enjoyment and enthusiasm that comes across to the audience. The Vail Chorale is directed by Fred Reinagel, the Chorale’s founder. We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music.
