SINGERS: Valley Chamber Chorale members are talented singers committed to a high standard of performance. Just as our concerts display a dynamic diversity in programming and instrumentation, so do our singers reflect marvelous variety. Our members are educators and students, physicians and attorneys, stay-at-home moms, clergy, pilots, corporate executives and professional musicians. Some have sung with the Chorale for more than 30 years – some have sung just a year. Chorale members tend to be actively involved in the community and sing with the group as a way to share the gift of music with our St. Croix Valley audiences. The Department has...  moreThe University Chorale performs the "Song of Ruth" by Rudy Lupinski and Victoria Davison. The East Central University Department of Music as part of the School of Fine Arts is housed in the beautiful Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The Department has over two hundred participating students of which approximately half are music majors. We have eighteen faculty members and are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Through dedication and hard-work, The Harmonious Chorale has carved for itself a niche and an identity which has provided mentoring opportunity for many choral groups in and outside Ghana, staging over thirty five (35) well executed and attended concerts in Ghana alone. In 2018, Harmonious Chorale became Champions of the World Choir Games (Category C28) during its maiden participation in Tshwane, South Africa. Our singers come together from a wide range of towns in Eastern and Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Each season we perform choral Masterworks with professional soloists and a professional orchestra. We have recently performed: the Mozart Requiem, the Mass in B Minor by J.S. Bach and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Carmina Burana, Ola Gjeilo Dark Night of The Soul, and currently rehearsing the Verdi Messa Da Requiem under the artistic leadership of conductor Anne Watson Born. We love making great music together, and we work hard in rehearsals to bring an expressive and thrilling sound to our performances. In this time the choir has participated in the Madrid Community choir contest, obtaining the first prize in 2009 and 2010, and the secón prize in 2007 and 2008 Within the choir activities, we could also mention their participation in theatre productions of the musicals Persephone and Midas by Steve Pogson, with which they obtained the first prize in the Vademorillo theatre contest. They were also awarded first prize in the Community of Madrid theatre contest, with the musical Super Jim, a play which was written specially for the choir by the British authors Steve Pogson and George Simmers. The work of the choir is not solely centred on the training of new singers and preparing concerts, since its beginning we have firmly believed that a junior choir should be innovative, and, year after year the choir has sought after original works by Spanish auth...    less
