For 15 years, the Golden voices of Montserrat festival has been more than just a competition. It is a celebration of harmony, culture, and unity — a gathering of choirs from across the globe who share a passion for singing.

We have fun as we build friendships with singers from many schools, sing a wide variety of music and bring joy to the community. We are ideal for singers who want more singing in their life! We are proud of our alumni singing at NOVA, NYU, JMU, UNT, Bridgewater, Longwood & Westchester.

The SYC was formed in 1998, as children's choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and CONtemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and CONtemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas CONcert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra CONcert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the mixed voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries.
