Cassie Luftspring was appointed as Elektra’s new Artistic Director in 2025 following Morna Edmundson’s departure at the end of the choir’s 38th season. Cassie brings her unique vision and expertise to lead Elektra into an exciting new chapter. Elektra is known for its brilliant programming and multidisciplinary initiatives, with collaborative artist Dr. Stephen Smith playing a pivotal role in their spellbinding performances. While we don't require auditions, our welcome process is rigorous. This kind of singing is spiritual work and is deeply rewarding for those who are called to it.

No matter life’s challenges, music has always been an outlet for me to cope and heal. It has helped me to persevere and fight through some of life's most difficult moments, ultimately making me a stronger person. The world can be a challenging place, but each of us are warriors—armed with the gift to sing, and filled with the fire, passion, drive, and grit to conquer anything. It has since grown from a small choral group to a self-run community choir with a wide ranging repertoire, performing music that bridges cultures and unites faith traditions. The project won an ABC award in December 2009 at the Royal Society for the Arts and was cited by the judging panel as ”an excellent, innovative way of bringing people together through a shared passion for music”. Koruso! host performances at least twice a year and to date has performed at a variety of venues across its home borough and beyond. Members come from all walks of life and all across Southwark. We enjoy singing together every Thursday from 6:30pm at Oliver Goldsmiths Primary School, Peckham Road.
