On its first attempt at ...  moreFormally organized in August 2006, the Ars Cantica Ensemble is a choral group composed of young professionals from different university Choirs who want to spread the Word of God through Musical talent and commitment to service. On its first attempt at competitions in 2007, the group won Second Runner-Up in the prestigious PAGCOR Chorale Festival and was chosen as one of the top five winners in the Paskong Himig sa Lungsod ng PASIG Chorale Competition. In December 2007, the Ars Cantica Ensemble was featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the Amazing European Union Christmas held at The Podium, Ortigas and was one of the Choirs invited to grace the Sing For Me Project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. In February 2010, Ars Cantica Ensemble emerged as one of the winners in Sa ‘Yo Lamang Chorale Fest, a choral competition sponsored by ABS-CBN and Star Records. During its 25 years of activity, the ensemble has won several first prizes in choral competitions in Israel and Europe, performed in many Musical festivals and events, as well as TV shows and radio programs. The ensemble collaborated with top Israeli Musicians such as Yoni Rechter, Alon Olearchik and many more. The composition is divided into two repeated sections. In the first section, the choral texture is homo-rhythmic and in the second section, the voices are set into a simple counterpoint. “I Never Saw” closes on the dominant chord creating a feeling of suspension that enhances the concept of faith expressed by Dickinson.

Over 12 weeks students will follow a curriculum tailored to helping each student develop at their own speed in all three areas of the artform. In Singing students will leave voice techniques, explore ensemble singing and perform a variety of repertoire. In acting students will learn how to develop character in scenes and songs, explore the physical journey of a character, improve stage presence and text analysis. In dance students will look at a variety of jazz techniques core to Musical theatre dance as well as perform several Musical theatre routines.
