We believe that music can positively impact and enrich lives. Our performances reflect this belief in their use of such seasonal themes as ‘freedom’ and ‘healing’ and ‘our mother earth;’ and in presentation of mostly new music in a way that is accessible. Our educational programs reflect this belief by training emerging professionals, planting seeds within young people for a lifetime of music involvement, and growing the skills of our own members. Our commitment to new choral music reflects this belief even beyond our substantial performance commitment through Project Encore™ and our Featured Composer Program. Substantially more than a singing group, SCH is unique in many respects that reflects both a breadth and a depth that bespeaks the full meaning of a ‘schola’ (‘school’).  less

La obra integra música compuesta por Raga y Cruz, a través de un proceso de interacción a distancia, una exploración de texturas y recursos que buscan unir a las posibilidades sonoras de la voz humana, otro tipo de sonoridades, corporales, instrumentales, haciendo uso de la tecnología. Con la interpretación de Aequalis Aurea, Coro de cámara femenino tutelado por la Fundación Aequalis. Life got in the way. We are now actively trying again to recruit new members. The Renaissance Revelers madrigal ensemble performs medieval and renaissance music in the greater Washington DC metro area. The ensemble has performed at the Maryland Renaissance Festival annually since 1987. Are you a choral singer? Do you like to sing old and interesting music in different languages? Do you like to dress in costume and attend renaissance festivals? We have the perfect opportunity for you! The Renaissance Revelers are looking for singers. All parts are needed, but we are in particular need of tenors and basses. Ability to sight read is not required but is desirable. We perform annually at the Maryland Renaissance Festival with a few gigs also thrown in over the holidays. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in Rockville, MD. Interested?
