The Sierra Boys Choir is the new revival of the Sierra Boys Choir in the 1970s, which was active in the Reno/Sparks/Carson City area and directed by Stan Burke. When Mr. Burke joined the Mario Singers and left to move to Long Beach, CA, the choir was disbanded and a hole was left in the local arts and culture scene. The revival of the choir is a project (and passion) of Nathan Lundholm. Our goal is to provide musical and artistic opportunities to the boys while teaching them to be generous and thankful members of the local and global community. Our aim is to be fun and entertaining on many levels, from practices to shows, even to social events on the town. We put all volunteers through a background check, and we ask some degree of participation from parents. The Sierra Boys Choir is a 501c3 non-profit corp. Th...  moreThe Koro San Isidro Labrador de CAA is the official choir of San Isidro Labrador Chapel of Mary Queen of Apostles Parish (MQAP) located in the cities of Parañaque and Las Piñas. Formed on 1995, the choir mainly sings at masses at the chapel every week. The members are composed of high school, college students and out of school youth and employees who lives in Timog, CAA, Las Piñas City that is why the former name of the choir was Timog Youth Choir. The name was changed since the choir started to expand its age range from 15-20 years old to open age as long as the member would fit the singing style of the choir. The choir usually held Christmas concerts and performs at quarterly general assembly of choirs in the parish. Last June 2010, the choir became the Champions of the first-ever Choral Competition of the MQAP in line with the parish’s 25th Anniversary wherein they bested other choirs which comprises the whole parish. The style of singing is more 'pop' than classical and the choice of music reflects this, with the repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from the 1930s to today, as well as classic barbershop arrangements. There are strong links to musical theatre in that most songs are choreographed, and performing skills are a key element in making a song work. We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's.
