“Misericordes sicut Pater,” is The official Latin Theme of The Year of Mercy and translates to “Merciful Like The FaTher"; by The English Composer Paul Inwood and The text of The hymn in Latin and Italian was written by Jesuit FaTher Eugenio Costa.

The title is drawn from John 6:36, Misericordes sicut Pater (English: Be Merciful, As Your FaTher Is). Inwood's composition was The winner in an international competition sponsored by The Pontifical Council for The Promotion of The New Evangelization. The hymn has now been released in Italian, French, and English, with a Latin antiphon and refrains.

“Marko Marulić” High School Mixed Choir was founded under The guidance of prof. Tomislav Veršić in The school year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”)... more“Marko Marulić” High School Mixed Choir was founded under The guidance of prof. Tomislav Veršić in The school year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At The end of The following school year, The choir participated for The first time at The Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, Thereby winning The Silver Plaque. In 1996 The performance of The choir at The same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, The choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as The Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of The school and thus of this historical review as well.
The choir continued its work under The name of “Marko Marulić” High School in The school year 2004/05. Since 2006 until now, The Choir has performe... less
