The University Chorale is the touring ensemble for the choral department. The ensemble performs a wide spectrum of the finest choral literature. The group performs extensively throughout the Southwest and will be singing at several venues in Washington D.C. during December of 2013. The group primarily consists of vocal music majors, however, there are singers representing several other academic disciplines. The University Chorale has been under the direction of J. Steven Walker since 1984. Dr. Walker is the Director of Choral Activities and a Linscheid Distinguished Teaching Professor at East Central University. He has served on the music faculty at ECU since 1983.  less

Founded in 1979 by Dr. Robert Summer, The Master Chorale was later incorporated in 1988 as a 501(c)(3). Designated in 1989 as the Principal Chorus of The Florida Orchestra, The Master Chorale is featured annually on The Florida Orchestra’s Masterworks season. In 1999, The Master Chorale was appointed as Artist in Residence at the College of the Arts School of Music at the University of South Florida. The Southwest Women's Chorus of Temecula, California, presents a medley of songs from "Les Miserables". Many songs are represented and the arrangement by Ed Lojeski is excellent. Our soloists are Adriana Burchard, Alecia Ghilarducci, and Anna Yamasaki.
