Their mission is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the Community. On September 10 of this year, Nashville Singers awarded their first Music Makes a Difference music education grant to John Overton High School. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. We began with the singular purpose of ministry and spreading the gospel. ​Since incorporation, NGGC now operates under two mandate objectives: to develop the professional and musical skills of young adults 20-30 years of age; and to bring gospel music as a respected genre of music, along with its more evolved counterparts (Jazz and Classical music), in Canada. Gospel Music has served vitally in the development of all members who have joined NGGC. Our unique incorporation, interpretation, and delivery of this embodied form of art, has garnered multiple forms of support — like spectators; organizations; donors; and sponsors alike — granting us the ability to develop both the musical and professional skills of our members in tandem.  less

Under the direction of soprano and singing teacher Michelle Nova, the singers perform an eclectic repertoire of classical, sacred, operatic and modern choral music. Their unique sound is characterised by its vibrancy and fullness, a result of the bel canto technique which all the singers are trained in.

Much of the music we sing is arranged in the barbershop style. Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in the Mid Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet singing as well as a cappella singing among the youth in our region. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 7pm and are always open for visitors so feel free to visit to find out more and to see if our group is right for you.  less

This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

In addition, they hail from eleven different states in the Union: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and, of course, Washington, D.C. The group actually began in October 2005 recording a small project of a cappella hymns (The Hymn Project) as a Christmas gift for one of their mothers. Well, long story short, nine singers met for the first time in a small, basement studio, spent about 10 hours recording some of their favorite hymns and the rest is, as they say, history. Life got in the way. We are now actively trying again to recruit new members. The Renaissance Revelers madrigal ensemble performs medieval and renaissance music in the greater Washington DC metro area. The ensemble has performed at the Maryland Renaissance Festival annually since 1987. Are you a choral singer? Do you like to sing old and interesting music in different languages? Do you like to dress in costume and attend renaissance festivals? We have the perfect opportunity for you! The Renaissance Revelers are looking for singers. All parts are needed, but we are in particular need of tenors and basses. Ability to sight read is not required but is desirable. A perennial competitor on the international stage, The Alliance Chorus has qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Competition every year since its’ formation in 1999. Ever “In Tune With Excellence”, The Alliance competed this past Summer in Las Vegas finishing 15th in the world, and in previous years has finished as high as 4th place! In addition to the competition circuit, The Alliance Chorus also has had many opportunities to give back and perform for the Community.
