We have fun as we build friendships with singers from many schools, sing a wide variety of music and bring joy to the community. We are ideal for singers who want more singing in their life! We are proud of our alumni singing at NOVA, NYU, JMU, UNT, Bridgewater, Longwood & Westchester.

Cantate is a mixed-voice youth choir based in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. It is open to All Young singers, whatever their background and musical upbringing. Cantate comprises three choirs for children and Young People which All perform to an exceptionAlly high standard. Cantate performed at the Royal Albert HAll, both in the BBC and Schools Prom Concerts, the Royal Festival HAll, the Barbican, the GuildhAll London, 10 Downing Street, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, and in many local and regional venues. Cantate has gained many national and international awards. In 2008 we achieved international acclaim at the world’s largest choral event – the World Choir Games in Graz, Austria – in which over 430 choirs from some 90 countries competed. Cantate won gold and silver medals, and was the only UK choir to win a gold medal in the finals.  less

Its aim is to provide opportunities for Young singers at the early stages of performing careers, as well as for talented musicians who have chosen not to pursue careers in the music, but wish to continue singing to a high standard. they currently comprise singers from many established choirs, including Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Choir, Ex Cathedra, Armonico Consort, the Choir of Royal Holloway, Genesis Sixteen, Portsmouth Cathedral and York Minster. the group specialises in undiscovered or little-known British music, and in the music of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. This award-winning ensemble achieves high performance standards by drawing on the rich musical heritage of the region. Many Cantorum singers have solo careers and All have sung with top collegiate ensembles. A number have also sung as members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Utah Chamber Artists, and Salt Lake Vocal Artists. In addition, Cantorum is proud to have a high representation of talented choral educators. the group won both of its categories at the 2016 Interkultur competition and received special commendation for their performance of Dale Warland and Hugo Distler.
