An ensemble of nearly 100 auditioned singers from around the tri-state area, NJCS performs under the baton of dynamic Artistic Director and Conductor, Eric Dale Knapp, accompanied by Linda Sweetman-Waters. The New Jersey Choral Society’s repertoire is among the most diverse in the area, each season providing exciting musical opportunities and experiences for both singer and audience member. The NJCS season consists of December holiday concerts, Pops concerts in March, featuring music from Broadway, American standards and jazz, and late spring concerts of major choral masterpieces and classical selections. The group's first piece—William Byrd’s “This sweet and merry month of May”, whose ending celebrated Queen Elizabeth I with the words And greet Eliza with a rhyme: O beauteous Queen of Second Troy, Take well in worth a simple toy. provided a great name for the group. Eliza’s Toyes was born, and existed every summer in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2008, a fair number of singers who were in Eliza's Toyes are living in Madison once again. Thus we gather, outside of the Festival, for the joy of music making. It is our pleasure to continue sharing this wonderful body of music with you for the second year!  less

We perform for many organizations in and around the Western Pennsylvania area. Anyone wishing to sing is welcome and invited to come to a rehearsal prior to committing to the group. No auditions are necessary. We also sing in a yearly competition called Saengerfest held in June each year. Members chorus' are: Altoona, Williamsport, Reading, Lebanon and Mon Yough. Each chorus hosts the competition on a rotating basis. Rehearsals are held each Sunday at Sampsons MIlls Presbyterian Church at 1665 Lincoln Way in White Oak, PA 15131 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Mon Yough Chorale was formerly known as the Mon Yough Community Singers. The Mon Yough Chorale has a long history in the Mon Valley. The organization started as The McKeesport Choraliers in 1962 merging with the White Oak Community Singers in 2001 becoming the Mon Yough Community Singers. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the music of all kinds of different styles, how to sin...  moreOur society is a real opportunity for people to get the most from singing. We have a great musical director, immensely skilled and fun to sing for. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the music of all kinds of different styles, how to sing, communication with the audience , keeping time, tuning, rhythm etc. The Choir works with musically trained people and singers entirely new to singing; some read music and some not. We give great concerts, sometimes of classics such as Elijah (Nov 2012), madrigals, anthems, and lighter music such as the delightful Noah and his Floating Zoo. Like all Choirs however we need more singers to keep the Choir progressing. We are therefore expanding the ways we reach out to people who might like to give singing a try, or who would like to return to singing after a break, perhaps to have a family or because of a house move. Our repertoire is mainly classical a cappella but we have participated i...  moreWe started as as a group of former students of Helenes at The Stockholms Musikgymnasium but is now a completely mixed group with many different backgrounds. We rehearse once a week. Our repertoire is mainly classical a cappella but we have participated in arena concerts with Andrea Bocelli, Chess in concert, I Love Musicals, Zelda, Morricone and others. In 2016 we won the Cork Int Choral competition.  

The London Chamber Choir Vasari Singers, directed by Jeremy Backhouse, sings the beautiful ATTBB anthem In All His Works, by leading British choral composer Gabriel Jackson. Filmed live in concert from St Sepulchre Without Newgate, London, October 2012.
