Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and compl...  moreFounded in 1992 by their current Artistic Director Gilbert Patenaude, Les Chantres Musiciens is a choir of young men aged 17 to 29 who hail from the celebrated Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal. Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and complex, comprising a range of works from the Romantic period (including Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms) to Post-Romantic and modern compositions (including, for example, Schafer, Reger, Schönberg, and Langlais). The ensemble has earned a reputation for excellence, confirmed by prizes at national and international competitions, tours, and several distinguished recordings. Their first tour brought them through Germany and France, garnering critical and public acclaim, particularly at the Festival de Musique de Moselle. In 2007, the choir participated in the International Men’s Voice Festival in Pleyben. Out he walks, six feet tall, twenty two years, ripped jeans, but respectable (it's Saturday after all). He's no threat he's going to cruise the shops. Along she walks with her groceries old, frail, her life hangs behind her like a snail-trail, dirty but still quite natural. Her eyes focus, she sees him: the determined stride and the baseball cap, the torn pants and his Walkman. Fearful, frightened, full of disgust and mistrust, she crosses the street, scowling like a scornful cat that's just been thrown off a lap. I felt ashamed, I felt annoyed What about trust? I just wouldn't react that way. But then, as a youth approached me I had a sudden and crucial thought. I don't want to be smashed up and I don't want to lose these things that I've just bought. So I crossed the street and silently became a product of this century.  less
