The group works mostly acapella but has also performed in oTher styles, such as big band. The group's repertoire ranges from Israeli folk to American jazz and British pop. The emphasis always being on tight harmony, even balance and a clear unit sound. The Yakinton Octet is truly a singer's group, consisting of eight friends who work as a democratic group with no professional conductor.

We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and The chord just locks togeTher and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for The public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time togeTher as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gaTher and enjoy Their interest in singing.
