Ad Libitum Choir represents the new faces over the coral Music in Puerto Rico. Is a non profit organization that provides the resources and skills as necessary to perform great and marvelous choral Music.

This was the first group to become active at Academia Concerto in 2005 and during this time has made significant projects such as the participation in the Opera "Il Capulletti ed Il Montecchi" by Bellini, with first complete performance in Brazil in São Pedro Theatre - São Paulo, sang the American Musical "Video Games Live" with composer Jack Wall, made a joint presentation with the American Choir "BYU Singers", performed Vivaldi’s "Beatus Vir" RV 579 for two Choirs and orchestra with Madrigal Mackenzie. In 2011 was Guest Choir at International Choir Festival MUNDUS CANTAT in Poland and held a series of 13 concerts in various cities including the capital, Warsaw. Our choral projects include: inclusive community Choirs for people with and without disabilities, Choirs specifically for adults with intellectual disabilities, and Choirs for older people, with a particular focus on those with dementia and memory loss. Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the west coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus. The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining Music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the Music closer to the people and to present the Music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All Choir ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival.  less

Its first members were students of the Club's Music School and many of them participated in the Youth Choir of the city of Heraklion, under ...  moreTHALITAS vocal ensemble was first created in 1996 as an activity of the “APOLLON” Music Club by Giorgos Kaloutsis. Its first members were students of the Club's Music School and many of them participated in the Youth Choir of the city of Heraklion, under the direction of Mrs. Katerina Tzagkaraki. The name of the ensemble originates from Thalitas, an ancient cretan composer and legislator, after whom a street in Heraklion is named; in this street the first rehearsals of the ensemble took place. The ensemble's primary goal was to acquaint its members with the a cappella (“in the chapel”, without church organ accompaniment) vocal Music of the renaissance period. THALITAS began by studying and performing works of renowned composers of that era (e.g. Josquin des Prez, G. P. da Palestrina, Orlando di Lasso) to assist the learning process of its members' Musical studies. The Choir’s repertoire imaginatively balances unaccompanied choral Music from the Renaissance period with 19th - 21st century works. Although relatively small in number, the Choir is accomplished in singing Music in both double and triple Choir form. Particular specialisms include the works of William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and Tómas Luis da Victoria. The Choir has performed in many prestigious venues in Europe, including Notre-Dame in Paris, Chartres cathedral and Versailles. Events such as the Prague Spring International Festival (Czech Republic) have also featured the Choir. In 2006, in Budapest, the Choir performed Tallis’s towering 40-part motet Spem in Alium, with the internationally renowned Budapest Monteverdi Choir. In 2008 the Choir enjoyed a trip to the Lisbon region and sang in some truly fantastic venues, including Mosteiro dos Jerónimos.  less
