We have won every single competition we have taken pArt in so far and are looking to improve our game and become better at what we do. Mu...  moreThe Middle Community Chorus is a professional-level volunteer choir that sings mostly gospel music, but also music of all genres accompanied by a 4-piece band. It provides the music for Middle Collegiate Church's Art & Soul worship at 6 PM. Music reading is very helpful, but not as important as good intonation and a keen ear for gospel music. The only rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons at 4:30, for the 6:00 PM worship (stArt date 9/7) so it is essential that singers must be able to work on music outside of rehearsal that will be distributed several days in advance. Middle Collegiate Church is located in the East Village at 2nd Avenue and 7th Street.  less

The academic background , tradition and reputation of the choir are confirming it’s high Artistic achievements. During it’s long history the choir won many prestigious awards at numerous competitions and festivals . The choir’s primary goals are: preserving and nurturing local and foreign secular and spiritual choral Art, expanding culture, Art and musical amateurism, engaging in various ceremonies, contests and other public performances. In achieving these goals, special attention is paid to professional and musical developing of singers and developing civic awareness and academic life. Its repertoire includes choral music from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, works by contempor...  moreMixed Choir of “Makrygiannis” Cultural Association was founded in 1980, contributing since then to the development of choral Art in the city of Arta, Greece. Its repertoire includes choral music from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, works by contemporary Greek composers, traditional songs, spirituals, etc. It has given numerous concerts in Greece, Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Norway, Switzerland, Hungary, Cyprus, Turkey, and Serbia. Since 2023, the choir has been organizing annually the “Arta Sacred Music Festival” which takes places in Byzantine churches of Arta. Since November 2021, the choir has been conducted by Antonis Ververis.  less
