The Washington International Chorus believes that choral music is particularly suitable for demonstrating the cultural richness of the world's peoples and communities. Transcending mere language, live choral performance allows audiences to experience the beauty, complexity and distinctiveness of living cultural heritage. We aim to establish a strong group of singers who rehearse and perform regularly, predominantly a cappella choral works but sometimes with instruments and including some solo/small ensemble repertoire. We will be commissioning new works as well as exploring established repertoire and pieces by CoMA composers and associates. The group will reinforce as well as supplement the established CoMA Voices programme. Singers are expected to be confident singers with some sight reading experience, be prepared to tackle unusual vocal techniques and unconventional pieces. We like to perform in and around our Community. We perform almost anywhere, including parties, business meetings, churches, and theaters. We have been regular performers at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton and at Disneyland for several years. We offer quality family entertainment for most budgets.  less
