Launched in 2006, this Choir for treble and changing voices continues to expand its horizons, develop its membership and satisy a variety of musical tastes. The Choir has toured throughout British Columbia and Alberta. In July 2011, they sang in Ottawa at the Unisong festival for Canada Day, and in July 2013 the group was featured at the presitigious and exciting international Festival 500 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Wherever the Choir travels, we spread the joy of music-making and hope to bring communities together through song. Shumayela offers a focus on thorough and excellent music education, with singers learning about healthy vocal production, the body-voice connection, and vibrant performance presence as well as a strong emphasis on musical literacy, music theory, and sightsinging skills. As with all our ensembles, Shumayela provides a secure and accepting social environment where all singers feel their importance as members of the group...    less

The Choir currently has around 30 members, with Martin Weston as musical director. The Choir's repertoire is wide and varied, with many songs taken from shows and films. We also sing sacred, gospel, jazz, pop and world music, with the odd novelty number thrown in! We perform at many events in Lancashire and Merseyside, including two main concerts each year at Rainford Parish Hall, plus charity events and private functions.  less

Er weidet mich auf grüner Aue und führet mich zum frischen Wasser. (He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me the quiet waters by.) Er erquicket meine Seele; (My soul he doth restore again) er führet mich auf rechter Straße um seines Namens willen. (and me to walk doth make in the paths of righteousness, even for his own Name's sake.) Und ob ich schon wanderte im finstern Tal, fürchte ich kein Unglück; (Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale, yet will I fear no ill) denn du bist bei mir, dein Stecken und dein Stab trösten mich. (For Thou art with me; and thy rod and staff my comfort still.) Du bereitest vor mir einen Tisch im Angesicht meiner Feinde....  less

All God's works do praise him, as the beautiful building praises the builder or the well-drawn picture praises the painter; but the saints bless him as the children of prudent tender parents rise up and call them blessed. Of all God's works, his saints, the workmanship of his grace, the first-fruits of his creatures, have most reason to bless him. - The Musikteers Ensemble Gh @HARMONIOUS CHORALE GHANA @The Symphonials - Ghana @The Sixteen @The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square @The Gesualdo Six @VOCES8 @Hope Channel Ghana @ONE VOICE Choir GHANA @GH Choral Music @VocalEssence Chorale @VocalEssence @His Voice GH  less
