We perform four concerts each year across three terms running from September to July. Our programme varies from stunning major choral works to satisfying chamber music programmes and the occasional light programme of popular numbers! Singers are drawn not only from Fleet and the surrounding area, but also outlying towns including Guildford and Basingstoke. choir membership is currently around 50 voices, many of whom have sung with the choir for several years. The combined experience and enthusiasm enables us to explore new musical horizons - both in repertoire and venue. We aim to broaden our experience, strive for quality and musicality in our performances and involve young singers wherever possible. From its very beginning in October 16, 1956 and until now, it is made up exclusively of male students and graduates of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (former Moscow Engineering Physics Institute). The choir’s directors have traditionally been exclusively women — talented choirmasters who represented the classical Russian choral school. The repertoire of the MEPhI male choir includes practically all genres of choral music: Russian and Western classics and spiritual music, opera choruses, works by modern composers, Russian folksongs, and some popular songs of the Soviet era.  less

We are resident at St. Matthew's parish church in Chapel Allerton. We rehearsal three times a month, on a Friday evening and sing four services a month, including Evensong on the first Sunday of every month. We also often host come and sing days and various workshops, our two most recent projects have been on Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri and Mozart's Requiem.
