It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director from 1995 to 2023. Our current classical Musical Director is Matthew Thomas Morgan, and our current jazz Musical Director is Jill Jarman. The group comprises two classical choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and a much larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz choirs – an auditioned mixed Jazz Ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-female Jazz Choir. It also offers two different singing classes to meet the needs of beginners, intermediate and the more experienced singer. The Addison Singers normally operate on three 10-week terms (the same as the schools) with a concert or recital at the end of each term. From 2001-2017 the choir was directed by jazz musician and conductor Fraser Gartshore. The current musical director is composer and conductor Stephen Harrap. We specialise in English-language choral music, both sacred and secular. The choir performs regularly in and around Bonn and is best known for its traditional Christmas carol services and concerts. We are currently around 50 ambitious amateur Singers between 18 and 50 that share their love for choir music. Our biggest success was winning the German National Choir Competition in 2010 in the category Jazz vocal et cetera - a capella.  

Formed in November 2005, the choir has performed around England, Wales, parts of France and Germany. Members of the choir also run a training choir to train other choirs to perform Gospel music. Members of the choir also run a training choir to train other choirs to perform Gospel music. The small training choir is able to travel anywhere. To date they have travelled to Cornwall, Devon, Derbyshire, Wales, France and Germany. The whole choir is mixed, with approximately 50 Singers and performs around 30 times a year. World-class, professional Canadian soloists enjoy performing with with the choir time and again. Each season, the choir presents four or five concerts, incorporating a blend of repertoire from Gospel to sacred to pop to oratorio. Classical highlights include St. Matthew Passion, Elijah, the annual Messiah, Carmina Burana, and Bach's B Minor Mass, which was a crowning achievement for the choir’s 10th and 20th anniversaries. Other popular concerts have featured the musical and comedic talents of Natalie Choquette, the famous and charismatic Michael Burgess, and the stirring sounds of spirituals under the direction of Brainerd Blyden-Taylor, whose own professional chamber choir, The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, headed for Washington to join the celebrations around President Obama’s inauguration.  less
