During the fifty plus years of its lifetime it has benefited from the leadership of five further conductors, David Griffiths, Margaret Maddock, Len Williams, Carol Davies and our present Director of Music, Alwyn Evans.

Idris was adamant that there should be a male choir in the Blackwood area and so advertised his intent to the local people. Very high unpretentious music, the choir was created to provide coverage to the need to sing and further training of a group of friends singing around the figure of his teacher. The time spent on the trials is very low in comparison to a standard chorus but over the years has drawn new members, has taken on challenges in terms of repertoire, has been federated, offers concerts by the municipalities of Biscay, and share their work in exchanges with other choirs in and out of Euskadi.
Since the beginning of his career have enjoyed the cooperation of Garbiñe Abendaño as a teacher of vocal technique. less
