We perform four concerts each year across three terms running from September to July. Our programme varies from stunning major choral works to satisfying chamber music programmes and the occasional light programme of popular numbers! Singers are drawn not only from Fleet and the surrounding area, but also outlying towns including Guildford and Basingstoke. choir membership is currently around 50 voices, many of whom have sung with the choir for several years. The combined experience and enthusiasm enables us to explore new musical horizons - both in repertoire and venue. We aim to broaden our experience, strive for quality and musicality in our performances and involve young singers wherever possible. Soloists are drawn from the choir, although for more complex works we often invite professional singers to participate. Fancy joining? Although we don’t have a formal auditio...    less

The choir will be accompanied by celebrated soloists, Ceferina Penny, Jorge Navarro Colorado and Ashley Riches, and The Purcell Orchestra. This will be the seventh KCS concert featuring Haydn’s beloved tour de force in their 76-year history. But it is notable as it will be the first KCS Creation in the Royal Borough since 1987. More recently in 2013 Andrew Griffiths, the KCS Musical Director, conducted KCS in an acclaimed version at Cadogan Hall. Another special feature is that, for the first time, KCS will sing the work accompanied by The Purcell Orchestra of period instruments, enhancing the colour of music already suffused with awe, delight and humour. for lovers of Haydn’s masterpiece, this is an unmissable event. And for those unfamiliar with it, you are in for an exhilarating ride, as Haydn’s breathtaking musical invention propels us from primal chaos...    less

Due to its diligent and devoted work, with repertoire including pieces by Croatian and other authors spanning from the Renaissance to the 21st century, the choir reached high quality of interpretation, soon recognized by audience. After many successful performances in Split and the region, the choir started to participate in various national and international choral competitions, having achieved notable results. Thus, the short but interesting history of the choir includes: - 3rd place at “Croatian Choral Assembly” in 2009 and 2011, and 1st place at this competition in 2010, 2012 and 2013; - two silver certificates at international choral competition “Slovakia Cantat 2010”; - awards won at the competition “Cro Patria” (3rd award of the jury in 2010 and 1st award of the audience in 2012); - two silver medals at World choir Championships held in Graz in Ju...    less
