Open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13, the choir rehearses on Tuesdays between 5.15 and 6.30 at St Peter's Church, Fulham. Children learn to sing together, about vocal development and musicianship, and most importantly have fun! The choir will give regular performances in and around Fulham. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and pray...  moreIgnite Gospel Choir was founded by Keara Sheeran… In Oct of 2008 I returned to the Jes Church, the place I had grown up with my father running the folk mass choir. He had retired 12 years previously. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and prayer, families and young couples, singles and religious, was now a quieter mass with no choir and I saddened by this. I offered my services as a singer and musician to come and provide music for the 5:30 mass and within a few short weeks I returned to the place I consider my spiritual home. I had not purposely set out to start a choir but people began to approach me with a desire to sing and it was a need within the community I was not going to Ignore. On the 12th Dec 2008 The Jes Gospel Choir was birthed with 5 singers and me & it was a wonderful experience and we received a very warm welcome. The Swingles show, supporting the release of their new album 'Ferris Wheels' features songs by the likes of Nick Drake, Bjork, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Green Day, and the set also includes their customary covers of Bach and The Beatles with human beatboxing at the heart throughout. The choir was founded in 1986 as part of the church music work at the Lutheran Lindenkirchengemeinde. The Berlin Girls‘ Choir has won many awards. It was most recently awarded the OPUS KLASSIK in 2021 for the music film „STIMMENÜBERLEBEN“ (Anne Frank: A Living Voice) and the „Kinderchorlandpreis“ of the Deutsche Chorjugend for very good children‘s choir work. The choir also won several first prizes at the German Choir Competition and at international competitions in Warsaw/Poland, Venice/Italy, Helsingborg/Sweden, Neerpelt/Belgium, the Harmony Festival in Limburg, the Johannes Brahms Festival in Wernigerode and the Vienna World Piece Choral Festival.
