In these few years, the young all-girls Choir has grown from strength to strength. Since June 2009, under the direction of their conductor, Mr Darius Lim, the Choir has garnered numerous accolades and awards to their name. In 2010 the Choir won the Gold Award at the 3rd Orientale Concentus International Choral Competition in Yilan, Taiwan. The Choir was also Category Winner and was one of four Choirs to be invited to compete in the grand finals. In 2011 the Choir attained their first Silver award at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Choirs. In the same year they came in 2nd at the National A Capella Championships. The Choir has also collaborated with numerous national ensembles such as the Singapore Police Force Band and Choir and the Singapore Armed Forces Band. Our repertoire consists mainly of Gospel, Acapella, Classical, Folk/Ethnic, and Sacred music. We compete in various national and international competitions and strive to share beautiful music with the world while being cultural ambassadors for our country. Diliup had orchestrated the music in terms of a classical orchestra and recorded it with the vocals of old Royalist Santhush Weeraman of B&S fame and the Royal College Choir. The re-recording of the School song was an initiative taken by the Secretary RCU Manju Ariyaratne on the advice of the RCU Council together with the consent of Prinicipal Upali Gunasekra.  less

The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform music by professional vocal ensembles, arrangements by well-known vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular music standards (both through the ensemble and in private coachings).  less
