The one hundred avid choral singers, all non-music m...  more Celebrating its upcoming 50th anniversary in 2013, National Taiwan Univer- sity Chorus (NTU Chorus) is the largest mixed choir on campus with the longest history among student groups and clubs. The one hundred avid choral singers, all non-music majors, come together into this vigorous and passionate auditioned musical group. With all their bright talents, imMense potential, remarkable adaptability, diligence and love towards choral music, the singers delight in performing works from a wide range of choral repertoire, including canonic Western choral literatures, American folklore, spirituals and gospel, music, Chinese art songs, Taiwanese folksongs, operatic choral numbers, musical medleys, and commissioned works by Taiwan's own emerging talented composers. Schneider, Esq., and accompanied by Matthew V. Grieco, Esq., now celebrates 20 years of serving our community by bringing uplifting, high-energy musical performances (with selections ranging from Broadway to the Beatles and from rock to gospel) to outreach venues across the city. Since 1993, the award-winning "CBC" has staged more than 200 concerts at senior residences, homeless shelters, AIDS and cancer patient residences, and pediatric and rehab facilities. Honored by NY1 News as "New Yorkers of the Week," the CBC's leaders and members are all legal professionals - attorneys, paralegals, legal administrators, law students - who volunteer their time and talents to our community service mission. Our 20th anniversary season will culminate in a benefit show on the evening of FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2013, at the historic landmark House of the Association in midtown Manhattan. 指揮：連芳貝 / 鋼琴：陳丹怡 performed by National Taiwan University Chorus conducted by Fang-Pei Tracy Lien from "The Merchant of Venice" by Shakespeare 　　"Tell Me Where is Fancy Bred"選自《威尼斯商人》（The Merchant of Venice）第三幕之第二景。《威尼斯商人》為莎士比亞戲劇中涉及音樂較多的一齣，女主角波西亞（Por...  more指揮：連芳貝 / 鋼琴：陳丹怡 performed by National Taiwan University Chorus conducted by Fang-Pei Tracy Lien from "The Merchant of Venice" by Shakespeare 　　"Tell Me Where is Fancy Bred"選自《威尼斯商人》（The Merchant of Venice）第三幕之第二景。《威尼斯商人》為莎士比亞戲劇中涉及音樂較多的一齣，女主角波西亞（Portia）繼承了父親龐大的遺產，追求者絡繹不絕；波西亞的父親臨終前規定求婚者必須從三個分別由金、銀、鉛製成的箱子中，挑出一個內藏波西亞畫像的，才能與她成婚。 　　這日，輪到波西亞的意中人巴珊尼歐（Bassanio）來求婚了，但礙於家規，波西亞不能向巴珊尼歐吐露箱內實情，心中的焦躁可想而知，便讓家僕哼起這首〈告訴我愛情來自何方〉作為答案的暗示。 　　就歌詞而言，暗示性極為明顯，要巴珊尼歐勿以貌取物，因為美麗的事物總是倏忽而逝。在金、銀、鉛三個箱子中，當然要以鉛箱最為樸實無華了，聰明的巴珊尼歐自然不難領會其中的意味。另一個耐人尋味的地方是在這首小曲中音韻方面的暗示，三行的尾韻分別為bred [εd]、head [εd]、nourished [εd]，這開始的三個尾韻和鉛（lead）一字不謀而合！ 　　曲目一畢，巴珊尼歐毫不猶豫地選擇了鉛箱，人財兩得，抱得美人歸。  less
